The story of this car

Completed in March 1995 in Iris Blue metallic over Classic Grey leather, this 993 was sold new in Strasbourg and has never left Alsace. Three owners have passed on an unbroken file: stamped service book, invoices, previous roadworthiness certificates.

It is the last air-cooled generation of the 911, here as the 3.6 with 272 PS and the six-speed manual gearbox. The valve guides — this engine's known weak point — were replaced at 96,000 km during a cylinder-head overhaul by a specialist; the clutch dates from the same job. Since then, 22,000 km with nothing to report.

The body has been checked with a paint-depth gauge: original paint, apart from the front bumper, resprayed after a car-park scrape — we would rather tell you. Inside, carpets and leather are original. It starts on the button and holds a steady idle from cold; come and hear it run — it is the best argument.
